Bae Jin Young and Kim Yo Han in PEPSI X STARSHIP Collab with a Surprise Guest!
On September 25, Starship Entertainment released a collab of both CIX’s Bae Jin Young and former X1 member, Kim Yo Han! When information about the collaboration was first released, fans were intrigued, and as the day of the release slowly started looming closer, fans were eager with anticipation.
Bae Jin Young, once part of the hit group Wanna One, had debuted in the summer of 2019 as a part of the group CIX. Since then, the group has only released some of the best songs in KPOP, such as “Numb,” their debut single “Movie Star” and “What You Wanted“.
Kim Yo Han, previously part of the infamous X1, started his journey as a solo artist. After X1 had parted ways earlier this year, Kim Yo Han released the summer song “No More (Prod. Zion.T)“. It was recently announced that Kim Yo Han would debut with the group WEi on October 5th.
In this music video, Kim Yo Han and Bae Jin Young worked with Pepsi to create a sweet, refreshing, 90’s themed song, “I Believe.” The song gives warm and happy feelings. After watching the music video, the track seems to discuss how we can find our happiness with Pepsi. It’s ok to be alone because we can leave anytime, like with the joy of Pepsi.
I feel like this song was meant for the time of quarantine. When Bae Jin Young says, “I believe its a little empty, but we’ll eventually go back to that time,” I feel as if he is trying to console the audience by saying, “it’s ok.” Times will get better soon, and until then, Pepsi will give us those sweet, nostalgic memories!
With this Pepsi advertisement, fans were also given a little surprise! When the song started, fans were surprised to see the cameo of none other than Kang Daniel! Kang Daniel’s entrance was indeed, like most fans described, a gift.
This Kang Daniel X Bae Jin Young X Kim Yo Han was a collab unlike any other.
