Dreamcatcher Shows New Side In Comeback
On August 17, Dreamcatcher released a refreshingly new music video titled, “BOCA” along with a mini-album titled “Dystopia: Lose Myself”.
Dreamcatcher consists of seven members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon. Because of filming with Idol Producer, Handong is not participating in this comeback. Each member represents a fear as a theme for the group. One is claustrophobia, and another is the fear of being chased.
Like the eerie theme, the title track “BOCA” gives off the same feeling. Something like out of a creepy horror film, the music video features many elements of darkness. From the glistening black trees to the purple sky to the faceless people, the video is ominous as if there is a deeper, darker story hidden inside than what is superficially there.
The characters the members play seem comfortable in the setting they are in. With sinister smilies, nonchalant attitudes, and monotone faces, the characters seem like something out of a Tim Burton movie.
The track itself might be a mix of rock and pop because of the heavy metal and gothy vibe. This new face of Dreamcatcher is certainly different yet unique. It’s something I didn’t expect but the surprise was intriguing!
Dreamcatchers album, “Dystopia: Lose Myself”, is available on Spotify to stream!
