Jimin’s solo album “FACE” becomes certified platinum by The Japanese Record Association
The Japanese Record Association has officially certified Jimin’s first solo album, “FACE,” as “Platinum” for recording over 250,000 cumulative sales in Japan. This makes him the first K-pop solo artist to receive the certification in 2023. Earlier, Jimin had already ranked number 1 three times in Oricon’s “Weekly Music Ranking” for “FACE,” as well as second place in Japan’s Oricon “Monthly Album Ranking.”
“FACE” is an album that explores the theme of facing oneself and starting anew as an artist. The title track, “Like Crazy,” topped the main single chart “Hot 100” on the U.S. Billboard, making Jimin the first K-pop solo artist in history to achieve this. Additionally, “FACE” ranked second on Billboard 200, marking the highest ranking for a K-pop solo artist.
