Court Blocks NewJeans From Solo Activities Fans Ask, “What Are They Even Fighting For?”

On May 30th, the Seoul Central District Court imposed a major restriction on NewJeans. The court approved ADOR’s request to enforce an “indirect compulsory order,” designed to prevent the members from promoting outside of ADOR’s control.

Now, if any member attempts to pursue solo activities without ADOR’s permission, they could be fined up to 1 billion won, which is approximately $700,000 USD. If all five members were to promote as solo artists, they could collectively owe a whopping 5 billion won (approximately $3 million USD)..

This order would make it extremely hard for NewJeans to continue promoting without ADOR’s approval.

The court explained that the fine reflects the potential damages ADOR could suffer if the contract is violated and the members engage in unauthorized solo activities.

The group is scheduled to return to court on June 5th for the next hearing in their ongoing contract dispute.

Fans have reacted to the news with mixed opinions. Some supporting the ruling, saying things like “Thank God,” while others believe the entire situation could’ve been avoided if both sides had simply communicated earlier. Some fans even admit they’ve forgotten what NewJeans is fighting for in the first place.

This has come to a point where I forgot what they were even fighting for. There are more groups out there who suffered worst “mistreatment” than them.
