A screen displaying fans from around the world lit up the Beyond live stage, as they waited patiently for Taemin to arrive. When that time came, an intimate dark stage was displayed featuring Taemin, in an all cream-colored outfit singing his songs “Think Of You” and “I Think It’s Love.”
Soon after his first performances, a high-energy VCR was shown, setting the tone for what was yet to come. The screen then takes us back to the stage for Taemin’s performance of “Guess Who.”
Without a break, the singer transitioned smoothly into the songs Sexuality, Criminal, and a special version of Idea. At the height of the show, Taemin took some time to talk to the fans at home.
In his brief speech, Taemin talked about how he came up with the name (Never Gonna Dance Again) two years ago, and that the project is a display of his inner self/Alter ego.
Diving back into the show, Taemin sang all our favorites, including Heaven, Goodbye, Want, Press Your Number, and Drip Drop. He also debuted a dance performance VCR for his song “Just You And Me.” Taemin mentioned that he took part in choreographing the dance and in developing the concept.
I must say the video was truly breathtaking and showed a different side of Taemin as an artist I’ve never seen before.
Moving along, Taemin did a medley VCR of his career featuring all the outfits he’d worn over the years. The timeline featured SHINee songs like Dream Girl, Love Like Oxygen, and Replay.
This all led up to the reveal of his new single from his upcoming Album “Advice.” Which the singer gave fans a sneak peek of during the concert.
Taemin ended his Beyond Live with an intimate performance of “I’m Crying” and “Snow Flower.” He also took time to thank fans for supporting him for the last 14 years and asked that they stay by his side while he’s away.
Overall this show left me speechless and a bit sad to know we won’t see Taemin in concert again for the time being. However, it was the perfect send-off for him. It gave fans from across the globe a chance to enjoy his music live one last time before his enlistment on May 31st.
