The global girl group has teamed up with Mattel’s Monster High™ to remake the brand’s iconic 2010 anthem, “Fright Song” and it’s not just a remix, it’s a full monsterfied moment.
The reimagined track launched today across all major streaming platforms, alongside a high energy music video now live on Monster High’s YouTube channel. Each member of KATSEYE transforms into a custom designed monster inspired by her heritage and powers, bringing the song’s message of fearless self expression and individuality to life.

“KATSEYE embodies our core values, bold creativity, fearless self-expression, and a commitment to lifting up others,” said Krista Berger, SVP of Barbie and Global Head of Dolls at Mattel. “They grew up as fans of the brand, and we’re thrilled this collaboration brings our anthem to life in a whole new way.”
The music video features stunning visuals, cinematic lighting, and choreography that blends KATSEYE’s signature style with the stylishly spooky world of Monster High. The group’s monster personas include:
- Sophia as a legendary Filipino Manananggal vampire with a haunting voice that glows after sundown.
- Lara as a South Asian Rakshasa, a shape shifting big sister figure who empowers her beasties.
- Daniela as a Werewolf who channels lunar energy through dance and radiates leadership.
- Yoonchae as a Korean Jangsanbeom White Tiger spirit, known for her strength and playful calm.
- Megan as a mystical Chinese Húli Jīng fox spirit with illusion powers and playful telekinesis.
- Manon as a Sea Monster descended from African water spirit Mami Wata, who commands water serpents.
While the custom dolls won’t be available for purchase, they were specially crafted to honor the unique identities and creativity each KATSEYE member brought to the project.
“Monster High has always stood for celebrating what makes you unique,” said KATSEYE. “Recreating ‘Fright Song’ and designing our own monster identities has been a dream. We hope the EYEKONS feel the love and energy we poured into this.”
