(WATCH) ILLIT release their MV for ‘Lucky Girl Syndrome’

On April 16 ILLIT released an MV for their B-Side track Lucky Girl Syndrome off their debut mini-albumSUPER REAL ME.

The song ‘Lucky Girl Syndrome‘ is based on the cultural phenomenon that went viral on TikTok in 2023. According to an article in Harper’s BazaarThe concept behind the craze is that if you repeatedly tell the universe how fortunate you are, you will eventually start to be fortunate – to manifest that luck – and be rewarded with that promotion, proposal, or pay rise, depending on what you’re wishing for.

This is a common theme in ILLIT’s song and video; you’ll see the girls go through various situations where they find themselves in sticky positions that turn out well in their favor. However, the main plot of the video revolves around a member manifesting the attention of a boy she has a crush on. Throughout the video, we see her engaging in somewhat of a ritual with a voodoo doll of her crush. However, she is interrupted when a handyman is almost electrocuted. In the end, when they go to a carnival or block party, she falls onto her stuffed animal, and her crush offers to help her up.

The song is very fun-loving and carries a positive message about manifesting your dreams into reality.
