On August 12, BlackPink has made it official on Instagram that they will be collaborating with Selena Gomez for their newest pre-release single.

Selena Gomez shared her enthusiasm for the single on Instagram saying, “So SO excited to announce @BlackPinkOfficial and I have a new song coming out August 28th!”

Selena Gomez is a well-recognized musician that first started her career off as an actress on Disney Channel. Garnering attention for her witty and spunky roles on the platform, she slowly started to delve into the world of music.

In 2009, she officially launched her musical debut on the Disney Channel. Songs like “Naturally” and “Love You Like a Love Song” became extremely popular, giving Selena Gomez a spotlight in the music industry.

Selena Gomez slowly has claimed her spot in the Western music world. In 2016, she won the ‘Best Female Artist’ Award at the American Music Awards. In 2017, Selena also won the ‘Women of the Year’ Award at the Billboard Women in Music. She was placed as no.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single “Lose You Too Love Me.”

Selena Gomez also uploaded an article by Billboard which talked about a collaboration between BlackPink and herself. The anticipation of the song is grueling! This BLACKPINK X SELENA GOMEZ single has become the most anticipated song of August!

YG has stated that;

“The two artists who have been connecting through music as fans of each other finally made their dream come true’ and added, ‘BLACKPINK shares their gratitude towards Selena Gomez and are happy to share this song with the fans soon”.

BLACKPINK recently came out with the hit single, “How You Like That” that has now surpassed over 400 million views on YouTube. “How You Like That” is the first pre-release single to BLACKPINK’s upcoming album. The new, unknown song will be the second pre-release single.
