The Next Rising Star: Nida
This YouTube phenomenon has a bright future ahead of her.
The talented singer, Nida, started her career on the platform about two years ago. She began by making covers of various well-known songs from both the Korean and Western world. The covers range from sensational songs of IU to popular songs of Ariana Grande. Nida’s covers have a type of nostalgic familiarity to it that makes the audience connect with the covers she produces.
Some of her covers are a mash-up of multiple different songs and beats in one three-minute video. Some covers include her dad or other’s that would sing along with her. Other times, it would be just Nida alone, singing what she enjoys out for the world to hear.

Nida’s love for music can be evidently shown in her videos. Every time she closes her eyes to feel the rhythm of the sounds or when she begins to add her own flavor to the original song, there is something about that which gives off the aura of her admiration towards music.
Her strong, clear vocals with her impressive singing talent have garnered her massive attention towards her rising musical career. Not only has she gotten a lot of recognition within Korea but abroad as well. With each cover Nida uploads, we see a new amazing part of her that comes to show the hidden gem she is.
On July 5th, Nida has released a song along with its music video titled “그개 뭐 어렵니” or “Please Love Me”. This heartfelt ballad song talks about one-sided love or a dying love. This is a song that could comfort broken hearts and heal the worn-out soul. It’s as if the song has reached out its arm to pat the audience on its shoulder and saying, “It’s alright, I understand too..”. A beautiful heartbreak song that allows one to not go through a hardship alone.
Nida has previously made ballad songs before. Under Genie Music, she has released songs including: “Comfort Me”, “Call Me” ft. FEB, “Bye My Love” and “Forgotten” which was released in 2019. The songs are available to listen on both Youtube and Spotify.
Nida’s music has just slowly made an appearance in the music world, but I believe her audience and career will only grow from here.
